The Sr. Food Service Worker is responsible for preparation and set up of the salad bar including salads, sandwiches and desserts for the dining room, catered and special events. Also assists cooks when requested, serve customers in the dining room, obtain patients' food orders, prepare and deliver trays. This position will also clean and sanitize the kitchen and dining areas, wash dishes, pans, equipment, and ensure all health department rules are followed. Shriners Hawaii is looking for a part time Sr. Food Services worker to join the team!

Requirements

  • 1 year Food Service

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Food Service in a health-care institution
  • Familiarity with basic food preparation technology

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and set up of the salad bar including salads, sandwiches and desserts for the dining room, catered and special events.
  • Assists cooks when requested.
  • Serve customers in the dining room.
  • Obtain patients' food orders.
  • Prepare and deliver trays.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Wash dishes, pans, equipment.
  • Ensure all health department rules are followed.
  • Preparing sufficient food ingredients for the salad bar and ensuring salad bar is filled with a variety of choices at all times.
  • Treating customers with courtesy, fairness and respect.
  • Preparing entrees, salads, desserts following age appropriate guidelines.
  • Assembling patient trays accurately according to the diet order sheet.
  • Practicing cleanliness and safe food handling by washing hands prior to handling food and using gloves as needed.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide population specific care, which include age (infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients) and culture, providing proper intervention in accordance with department guidelines.
