The Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a Sr. Fiscal Services Tech position with experience working with monthly reconciliation of multiple financial accounts, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. CHTM is an internationally recognized center of excellence in optoelectronics, optics, materials science, and microelectronics that boasts a creative and entrepreneurial faculty spanning multiple schools, colleges, and departments. CHTM’s 24 Research/Teaching laboratories provides outstanding scientific and technical expertise and cutting-edge instrumentation and facilities, including a fully equipped 4200 sq. ft. class 1000/100 cleanroom. The Sr. Fiscal Services Tech is responsible for: reconciling 80+ restricted indices monthly, including payroll transactions, PCard purchases, and related grant transactions. Additional duties include posting expenses to CHTM's internal accounting system and extensive use of UNM's Banner accounting system modules to review, reconcile, and track ~$6M in annual federal grant and contract expenses. Initiates, processes, and maintains records of a variety of complex fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions, in either direct or indirect support of accountants and/or unit management. Investigates and resolves problems related to funds, budgets, expenditures, and/or procurement practices, and provides reports and analyses on complex fiscal issues, as assigned. Provides assistance in the development, implementation, and management of fiscal systems and procedures, applying basic concepts, methods, and techniques. May serve as unit/area transaction initiator or requisitioner.
