About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting the preparation of SEC filings, internal management reporting, and financial results analyses. The analyst will perform technical research to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, and process audit requests.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
2-4 years of financial reporting experience
Thorough understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
SOX compliance experience required
Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Experience with accounting software systems and forecasting/budgeting tools
Experience using accounting research tools such as CCH or Checkpoint Learning required

Nice To Haves

CPA preferred
Big 4 audit experience with public company clients preferred
Oracle experience preferred
Working experience with other systems, such as SAP, Great Plains, or any other large ERP system a plus
Experience using and implementing Workiva preferred
REIT experience a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly reporting packages including financial statements and analytical review of significant variances.
Prepare external financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statements of shareholders’ equity, and statements of cash flows).
Prepare footnote disclosures and complete related GAAP checklists for interim and year-end financial statements.
Maintain share-based compensation activity reports, including expense calculations and disclosures for financial statements and annual proxy.
Perform quarterly earnings per share calculations and related documentation.
Support annual goodwill impairment testing procedures and documentation.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly MD&A and related non-GAAP disclosures (same store/non-same store, constant currency, Core EBITDA, Funds from Operations).
Liaise with investor relations to complete earnings release and script, validating financial data and addressing investor questions.
Optimize Workiva for Financial Reporting, including integration with Oracle and developing reporting packages/analytics.
Assist with other SEC filings (Annual Proxy, 8-K’s, registration statements).
Identify efficiencies and potential improvements in reporting processes.
Prepare and ensure adherence to SOX controls documentation for assigned areas.
Perform technical accounting and SEC reporting research and document conclusions.
Assist internal and external auditors with requests.
Assist the IT function with the implementation of new accounting and reporting solutions.
Perform other duties as requested.
