About The Position

Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio gear and musical instruments is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our growing Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you will assist in the analysis of past and present financial data and estimate future revenues and expenditures by working closely with Sweetwater’s finance team and other internal stakeholders, including senior management. Our Sr. Financial Analyst will help drive process excellence and continuous improvement as well as support the monthly financial planning & analysis activities and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8 – 10 years of experience in accounting / finance, 5 – 7 years in FP&A preferred
  • P&L experience along with knowledge of financial systems and accounting concepts.
  • CPA or CFA is preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including v-lookups and pivot tables
  • Experienced with Alteryx, Looker or similar software/Excel modeling and Tableau or similar software visualization processes preferred
  • Knowledge of Workday or other financial systems preferred
  • Demonstrates strong communication (oral and written) skills
  • Understands accounting concepts and processes as well as financial modeling concepts
  • Exhibits a high level of attention to details
  • Experienced with building quality relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, with an aptitude for logical analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented work environment and handle competing tasks
  • Must be able to work with large quantities of data in Microsoft Excel to drive business decisions
  • Must be able to identify and take ownership of significant issues as they arise
  • Must be able to make concise, effective, and professional presentations to senior management
  • Must be able to quickly analyze issues, determine what other persons or groups are needed to address the issue, and take necessary steps to assemble the group to drive resolution

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CFA is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of the financial budgets, forecast with primary focus on providing financial analysis and insights.
  • Support the continual improvement in budget and forecasting processes to expend data-driven decision-making
  • Preparation timely and accurate weekly / monthly / quarterly financial results presentations that provide important insights to the senior leadership team
  • Development, maintenance, and management of advanced reporting and KPIs that provides actionable insight into the department
  • Review actual performance relative to budgets and forecasts and prepare supporting variance analysis
  • Support the monthly close process as needed and partner with the accounting team
  • Assist in development of long-term financial projections and models
  • Performing ad-hoc research and analysis
