About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the financials of large and/or complex programs, including fixed price contracts and competitive product lines. The individual will analyze and present program financial performance—orders, funding, sales, profit, and cash flow—to senior program leaders and customers during formal reviews. Responsibilities also include managing program billing preparation, cash tracking across assigned programs, as well as supporting month end close activities and earnings rate reviews in alignment with GAAP compliance and GD OTS policies. The role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in its own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. The individual will solve complex problems, work independently with minimal guidance, and may lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. They will also act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, exercising discretion and judgment.

Requirements

Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Advanced Excel skills
ERP systems experience
Finance tools/models experience
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Responsibilities

Manages program billing preparation and cash tracking across assigned programs.
Supports month-end close activities and earnings rate reviews in alignment with GAAP compliance and GD OTS policies.
Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects.
Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products, product lines, or business units to track progress against financial goals.
Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision-making.
Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.
Manages program cost activities, including baselines, estimates to complete, reporting, earned value, and variances.
Coordinates with procurement to support material forecasts.
Oversees cost and pricing to ensure accurate estimates and contract compliance.
Collaborates effectively across the organization with strong interpersonal skills.
