About The Position

Under general direction, the Sr Financial Analyst organizes day-to-day activities necessary to prepare budgeting and financial analyses for Rhode Island Hospital. This role assists clinical leaders in monthly financial analysis and variance reporting. Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
  • Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in a complex, automated environment, healthcare multi corporation environment focusing on financial system operations and services
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of employees in discussions and explanations of complex information and to gain cooperation with individuals and groups while effecting timely progress towards goals
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting requirements, as well as an understanding of the impact that accounting practices have on budgeting, reimbursement, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and other key finance functions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various financial software such as Microsoft Office and related products

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the organization’s productivity system
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Brown University Health and affiliates annual operating budget and capital budget programs
  • Compiles short and long-range financial analysis/projections for administration and clinical leaders
  • Analyzes financial and statistical data used in financial operations
  • Compiles and reconciles monthly the actual to budget variance performance metrics
  • Participates in staff meetings and acts a department liaison with clinical leaders
  • Assesses financial and statistical variances and correlates solutions as appropriate
  • Performs other related duties as required
