About The Position

The primary function of the Sr Financial Analyst is to support manufacturing operations and finance by preparing and analyzing financial reports on a monthly and annual frequency. These reports are used to help make sound business decisions that support the plants objectives and create shareholder value.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial planning, forecasting and analysis
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills in business performance metrics are required, extensive financial modeling experience.
  • Ability to think independently, synthesize data and make proactive, concise recommendations based on findings.
  • Thrives on ability to work autonomously.
  • Creative and innovative team player with a positive approach and a focus on business issues.
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships with plant leadership and regional office personnel.
  • Willingness to take on additional projects and multi-task with changing priorities, as necessary.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PowerBI or database systems/tools preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing month-end activities such as completing & uploading journal entries and forecasts in SAP, exporting data from multiple sources to review & analyze actual results against plan and forecast and assist with close process in SAP.
  • Build analytical models utilizing both financial and non-financial data to forecast and analyze operating results.
  • Be able to clearly articulate results back to management in order to drive better business decisions.
  • Facilitate manufacturing unit management in annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles and support on all matters related to OpEx.
  • Analyze data relating to inventory and production cost variances and relay results back to manufacturing units to help drive improvement on cost of manufacturing.
  • Assist with annual standard costing updates and planning.
  • Track and report capital expenditures (CapEx), ensuring alignment with budget and proper asset capitalization.
  • Provide training & regular support to their departments regarding matters such as purchase requisitions, RFA submissions, invoice resolution, valuations, and budgets.
  • Support Novelis Operating Systems and continuous improvement activities by participating in cross-functional business projects and gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the operational cost drivers to better support project initiatives.
