About The Position

The NBCU Local Division consists of 43 local NBC and TLMD stations and 4 Regional Sports Networks. This role serves as a key position in the NBCU Local financial planning and analysis function. This role will be responsible for assisting with all financial aspects of the business and requires understanding of accounting/finance and the ability to partner with business units, Corporate Finance, and Comcast. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this key role on the NBCU Local Headquarters Finance team will help prepare the consolidated financial results, variance analysis, summarize operational insights & reporting to Local & News leadership. The role will have the ability to gain an in-depth view and understanding of NBCU Local’s business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and a Windows environment, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Support Director, FP&A in consolidating financial results, operational insights and providing variance explanations for NBCU’s Corporate finance team in preparation of pacing and quarter closes.
  • Support Director, FP&A in financial summaries for NBCU Local Management & News Finance HQ.
  • Own, manage, and maintain Free Cash Flow models and Partnership Cash Distribution forecasts.
  • Responsible for submitting OCF/FCF pacing and variance into the corporate reporting system (BPC).
  • Support monthly and quarterly closing processes (e.g., analyze departmental expenses, calculate required accruals, and take lead to ensure all expenses are captured and stated properly).
  • Provide financial modeling and analysis and be well-versed in the creation of dynamic financial models. Must be analytical and business minded. Must be able to dig into the details to analyze and understand causes of budget/actual variances.
  • Track spending against budget and partner with the various operators to ensure spending remains within approved limits
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, pacing and long-range plans
  • Aid in the creation of executive PowerPoint presentations
  • Submit monthly rolling cash forecast
  • Assist with quarterly Comcast data requests
  • Resolve vendor setup and payment issues – act as liaison with Accounts Payable team
  • Ad hoc variance analysis and projects
