Sr Financial Analyst - Entitlements
About The Position
The Senior Financial Analyst of Entitlements is responsible for the financial management of Michaels vendor allowance programs by calculating, tracking, and submitting invoice deductions. This includes the monitoring and maintaining of over 800 Vendor Partnership Agreements (VPA), analyzing and executing diversely structured rebate programs, and monitoring numerous back-end-merchandising allowances. Through communication with vendors and the merchandise procurement staff, purchase and entitlement forecasts are produced for corporate planning needs. The SFA provides buyers with precise vendor comparative data to help increase leverage during the negotiation of VPA terms as well as periodic reporting and analysis of results and comparative data. This position is responsible for the receipt and tracking of entitlement funds and the allocation of entitlement credits to the corresponding internal merchandise departments.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of related work experience
- Supervisory experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong Microsoft Access skills
- Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office skills (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion)
- Macros and Sequel experience a plus
- Prior retail experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Track entitlements and monitor Vendor Partnership Agreements
- Address vendor requests and other issues
- Verify and research vendor reimbursement issues
- Interface with buyers to satisfy vendor needs
- Manage entitlement monthly billing process
- Manage and control vendor entitlement system
- Supervise Financial Analyst
- Assure accurate deductions, coding and accruals
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
- Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets for entitlements and purchases
- Work with IS and outside consultants on the continuing maintenance and enhancements of the Access-based application to generate entitlement claims, track entitlement data and other key vendor information
