About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Management Analyst/Consultant to provide financial management and accounting support to the Department of the Navy and NAVWAR. This is a full-time, onsite position located at the Washington Navy Yard. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a team of consultants and government stakeholders, delivering analytical and advisory support across a broad range of financial management activities. The position balances independent execution with daily interaction across multi-functional teams and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 7+ years of Navy/DoD financial management or relevant federal consulting experience
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance (TS/SCI may be required for select projects)
  • Non-U.S. citizens are ineligible.
  • The adjudication process evaluates overall reliability and trustworthiness, including adherence to federal laws prohibiting marijuana use (recreational, medical, or CBD).

Nice To Haves

  • Department of the Navy experience, including accounting, finance, consulting, NAVWAR financial systems, and PPBE processes
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Input, maintain, and analyze financial data within government systems (e.g., Navy ERP, Standard Procurement System, and successor systems)
  • Assist with budget formulation, cost monitoring, and variance analysis
  • Measure organizational performance and evaluate program or policy impacts on budgets
  • Research financial, economic, and regulatory developments impacting funding and execution
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures governing budget formulation and execution
  • Manage multiple funding types and coordinate with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and brief financial budgets, reports, analyses, and executive-level summaries
  • Develop recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to address financial challenges
  • Interpret and apply financial management policies, regulations, and strategic objectives
