As a member of the Imperial Service Team, you’ll manage and grow a complex client portfolio through key relationship management, creating comprehensive financial plans and providing exceptional client service. As a Senior Financial Planner, you’ll expertly deliver on CIBC’s Imperial Service approach, taking responsibility for a large portfolio and helping clients plan for today’s needs and tomorrow’s goals. You’ll mentor a team of advisors to problem solve and provide comprehensive financial advice, help clients to secure their futures, own homes, and set up businesses. You’re flexible to work our banking centre hours which may include evenings and weekends. To help deliver a great client experience, you’re flexible to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

Requirements

  • 1.5 – 3 years experience in financial advisory role managing and growing your own portfolio of clients.
  • Certified professional (CIRO-MFD).
  • Current accreditation and good standing in The Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC), and/or Investment Funds in Canada Course (IFC).
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for CIRO-MFD licensing upon hire.
  • Personal Financial Planner (PFP) within 24 months of hire.
  • Certified professional (Quebec).
  • Current accreditation and good standing in AMF licensing.
  • Successful completion of Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) to support AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) licensing.
  • Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC).
  • Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified.
  • Where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed CSI/ICB Investment and Taxation Fundamentals Course - Quebec (0774).
  • Completed CSI/ICB Legal & Ethical Aspects of Financial Planning Course (0790).

  • Provide coaching and support to a team of advisors.
  • Work as one team and support the team as they make informed choices that benefit both the client and CIBC.
