This organization is the largest and most capable outcome-driven engineering organization in the industry, with a $2.5B investment and 6,000 industry and engineering experts embedded at customer sites to co-design, co-innovate, deploy, and continuously improve AI systems at scale based on measurable business outcomes. The FrontierCo finance team is part of the Microsoft Commercial and Partner Solutions finance organization. This team builds and runs the finance operating system for this new business, engages in Frontier AI business model development and analysis, and helps the business scale its impact while reinforcing commitment to Microsoft's ROI. The team consists of energetic finance professionals with a game-changer mentality, ready for new challenges to help the business transform. They operate as a trusted partner to stakeholder teams, encouraging diverse perspectives, valuing work-life flexibility, and fostering a fun work environment. The role of Opex Finance Controller is instrumental in partnering with senior sales executives, industry experts, and strategy and operations teams to provide clarity in resource allocation, support investment decisions, and offer insights for improving operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years work experience in the technology or software industry.
- Experience in working with Frontier AI business model and tools is a strong plus
- 5+ years work experience in matrix-based organization.
- Experience in Business decision support and partnership with senior business leaders
Responsibilities
- Manage P&L outcome to achieve key financial commitment Micrsooft.
- Develop resource blueprint through partnership with business, enforce resource allocation according to principles hiring decisions.
- Provide consistent and accurate insight (HC, CPH, Program Spending) to help understand business drivers behind financial results.
- Partner with broader Microsoft finance team in developing financial budget and forecast, use those as targets to guide the forward looking business operations.
