About The Position

Eaton Corporation is seeking a Sr. Finance Manager of Commercial and FP&A to provide financial planning and analysis along with commercial finance leadership for the North America GEIS (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) business (>$1.5B revenue, 11 sites). This role will review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results and forecasts, including reporting to the Group/Region and Corporate leadership teams, synthesizing the inputs and coordinating an insightful story for senior leaders. This person will closely interact with GEIS North America leadership team to coordinate and drive financial consensus across all functions during forecast and profit plan cycles. It will be the catalyst for change when a need is identified, gather requirements, design & deploy new processes and manage the change throughout the organization. Role will also involve being responsible for commercial finance and oversight with regard to strategy, product line performance & profitability, support of sales outgrowth & ROPs, NPI investment and ROI, and portfolio & complexity management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive finance experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or people management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of US GAAP, an understanding of international business, and a working knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Oracle Planning).
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (MBA)
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis of actual results, forecast, and annual planning & implement best practices as it relates to financial planning and analysis including processes, systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Analyze historic performance to understand root-cause of issues and support improvement efforts going-forward; proactively perform forward-looking analysis and identify areas of improvement for management attention and achieve forecast accuracy improvement.
  • Assist North America leadership in financial planning and results management. Work with commercial functional leaders to understand revenue and cost drivers and determine strategic opportunities for organic commercial growth.
  • Constantly optimize key monthly financial processes including month-end closing, forecasting, and planning in partnership with the North America team and the other functions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to drive continuous improvements (finance transformation) detecting the need for change, proactively gathering requirements, designing and developing processes, implementing change, and stabilizing process changes to deliver on stake-holder critical requirements.
  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of 1-2 financial analysts. Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.

  • Responsible for building organizational capability and serving as a mentor and coach within the function.
  • Play a key role in preparing operating reviews deck and working on ad hoc requests.
