Collins Aerospace is looking for a Radio Field Service Technician to support our Commercial Aviation and Network Services Division in Livermore, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in an environment where customer service is held in the highest regard. You will install, maintain, test, adjust, and repair communication equipment such as radio and antenna systems. You will utilize test equipment as required to perform proper installation or repair. You will interact with customers, vendors, and contractors independently and professionally in support of maintenance and installation activities. You will provide on-the-job training. You will be required to provide 24/7 support, so you will be on-call after hours, on weekends and holidays. Travel will be required up to 50%. You will obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL) within 6 months of being hired. You will obtain and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) badging for access to certain Federal regulated areas of the airport; this includes Security Threat Assessment (STA) and a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and SIDA training. You will lift and carry fifty (50) pounds and climb towers and stepped poles up to fifty (50) feet in height. You will also assist in Facilities and EH&S tasks. You will learn how to support nationwide Air-to-Ground voice and data networks and custom communication solutions, gaining the experience and knowledge to be at the forefront of ensuring the operational viability of these critical communication systems.
