Sr Field Inspector
About The Position
STV is seeking a Sr. Field Inspector to join the firm based in their New York City, NY offices. This position will report to field offices and requires flexibility to work shifts as needed, including swing, night, or weekends. The role involves performing inspections on existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy. The inspector will prepare written documentation such as daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, and daily time and material records, and document unit price work. Responsibilities also include reviewing and marking plans and specifications to ensure compliance, observing work conditions for safety regulation compliance, prioritizing conflicting needs, handling matters expeditiously, and following through on projects to completion. Effective communication with various parties on work progress in a timely manner is essential, along with performing other related duties as required.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection
- Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in a related field preferred
- Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station preferred
- Prior experience with substations preferred
- Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.)
Responsibilities

- Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.
- Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.
- Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
- Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.
- Other related duties and tasks as required.
