About The Position

The Sr. Family Office Financial Planner will have a well-developed understanding of the wealth management industry and will have a passion for financial planning and client engagement. They will be a member of the RWA Family Office Financial Planning team, advising clients with net worths in excess of $10,000,000 on all aspects of financial planning and supporting the team in preparing financial projections, implementing financial plans, addressing client needs, and maintaining client relationships. The Family Office Financial Planner is expected to understand and deal with complex family dynamics, intricate estate plans, and to advise on multigenerational planning issues.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in a related field with extensive client-facing experience and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently with complex and diverse clients.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Computer skills, particularly the ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with eMoney or MoneyGuide Pro software is a requirement.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, other professional advisors, and clients.
  • Advanced personal finance knowledge.
  • Estate planning knowledge.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Series 65 license or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire. If candidate is working toward becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™, this requirement is waived.

Responsibilities

  • The Family Office Financial Planner will lead clients with planning and analysis in areas including, but not limited to, income taxes, insurance, equity compensation, trust and estate planning, Social Security, Medicare, retirement planning, educational funding, and investment planning.
  • Anticipate client planning needs, recognize challenges, and provide swift, efficient solutions.
  • Demonstrate our value through understanding our investment platform, having a deep understanding and utilization of our financial planning tools, and utilizing the wealth services (estate planning review and tax preparation) offered by the firm. Work with, and when appropriate, enlist outside advisors such as insurance brokers, tax preparers, attorneys, and mortgage brokers to implement other aspects of a client’s financial plan.
  • Assist in contributing to our culture of knowledge sharing and best practice creation.
  • Take a leading role in meetings with current clients and potential prospects, demonstrate our depth and breadth of expertise, identify planning issues, and explain our unique competitive advantages. Identify opportunities for increasing wallet share with existing clients.
  • Collect, enter and analyze client data, and create, update, and present financial plans to clients of the Family Office.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring investment plans for clients. Work with the RWA Wealth Family Office investment team to analyze asset allocation of client portfolios.
  • Take a proactive role in conducting market research, client processing, and preparing marketing literature for prospective clients.
  • Assist in drafting financial planning newsletters and presenting to groups on financial planning topics.
  • Take a proactive approach to client contact. Answer client questions and address needs as they arise.
  • Comply with all internal procedures, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Other tasks as necessary to provide strong support to a growing and evolving business.
