About The Position

The Sr. Facilities Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, repair, and operational tasks to ensure the Plant's facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. This role involves working with complex building systems, leading facility improvement projects, addressing maintenance issues, providing guidance to junior team members and supporting the overall infrastructure needs of the facility.

Requirements

Knowledge of general construction, building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pipe fitting, and general maintenance practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Must be willing and able to become forklift certified within 30 days of assuming role.
Must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction and be able to differentiate colors.
Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Technical training or certification in facilities management or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct and oversee regular inspections and preventive maintenance on complex building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
Diagnose and resolve advanced issues, ensuring minimal operational disruption and compliance with safety standards.
Coordinate and help oversee the work of external contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
Support the setup and reconfiguration of office furniture and equipment for events, meetings, and workspace changes.
Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure optimal functioning and energy efficiency.
Manage inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment for maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting routine safety checks and inspections.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe environment.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
Keep detailed logs and records of repair work and inspections.
Provide information to leadership regarding facility conditions and maintenance activities for management review.
