We are seeking a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our state-of-the-art 350,000-square-foot distribution center in Clear Lake, Iowa. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facility infrastructure and automated distribution equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills who enjoys solving complex equipment issues and mentoring others.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience working with conveyors, automated equipment, motors, drives, compressors, or material handling systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Ability to safely use maintenance tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic devices.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, HVAC, or equivalent experience
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, AC/DC drives, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, and power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with automated warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order systems.
  • Previous experience coordinating vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and train other maintenance team members.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades on facility infrastructure, conveyors, automated material handling equipment, and warehouse automation systems to ensure operational uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues using technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Support and maintain critical facility systems, including motors, drives, compressors, power distribution equipment, printers, strappers, and PLC-controlled technologies.
  • Partner with operations, IT teams, vendors, and contractors to complete maintenance projects, improve equipment reliability, and minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following OSHA and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures while providing technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance team members.
