About The Position

Flex is seeking a Sr Facilities Manager in Austin, TX. This role will support SpinCo, a new independent company focused on digital infrastructure, power, and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and mission-critical applications. The Sr Facilities Manager will manage, coordinate, and oversee various functions for the facilities organization, including maintenance and alteration of office, manufacturing, warehouse, truck yards, parking, and landscaped areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement, and housekeeping of these facilities. The role involves managing inter-building communication installations, supervising maintenance and alterations, potentially overseeing food service operations, analyzing and standardizing procedures for efficiency, defining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting workflow, assigning duties, and examining work for compliance. Additionally, the role may involve coordinating purchase orders, filing reports, and potentially directing the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of building structures and infrastructure. Higher-level duties may include inspecting plant and evaluating space utilization, evaluating HVAC systems, network wiring, lighting, planning and budgeting regional facilities modifications, performing audits, and developing long-range plans and capital outlay requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering or related field, including supervision.
  • Prefer some knowledge of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Controls inter- building communication installations and maintenance.
  • Supervises maintenance and alteration of all areas and equipment within the building(s), as well as layouts, arrangements, and housekeeping of all facilities.
  • May oversee cafeteria and/or food service operations.
  • Analyses and standardizes various facilities procedures to improve efficiencies.
  • Defines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties for subordinates and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing tasks related to the facilities unit.
  • Coordinates purchase orders within budget guidelines and files monthly reports to accounting, corporate, and/or facilities management.
  • May coordinate, manage, and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance and alteration of building structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities infrastructures.
  • Inspects plant and evaluates use of space and facilities.
  • Evaluates firm's HVAC systems, computer network wiring, lighting and other factors.
  • Plans, budgets and schedules various regional facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Performs audits to support facility planning.
  • Develops long range plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements and documentation for various facilities.
