About The Position

KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) is seeking a Sr. Facilities Engineer to manage day-to-day facilities operations and preventative maintenance for a production cleanroom facility. This role involves active monitoring of cleanroom performance, scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance for all facility-related equipment within an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) model. The engineer will collaborate with the chief engineer, stationary engineers, third-party contractors, and the EHS team to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, manage tool installations, troubleshoot MEP issues, and support fab transitions. The position also requires after-hours support and the initiation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent experience in facility engineering in the semiconductor, high tech or data center industry.
  • Minimum eight (8) yrs of proven experience working in high tech manufacturing is required.
  • Facilities engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing or clean room environments is helpful.
  • Experience with tool installation projects, including permitting, EH&S aspects, and forecasting and execution to timelines.
  • Solid technical knowledge of chemical delivery, power distribution, water purification (RO,ID) and HVAC systems in cleanroom environments.
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards and cleanroom classifications.
  • Knowledge of building, fire, safety, and cleanroom standards and codes.
  • Strong 6S approach to improving toolset performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages day-to-day facilities operations and preventative maintenance for a production cleanroom facility.
  • Actively monitors cleanroom performance.
  • Schedules and executes preventative maintenance for all facility-related equipment within an IFM model.
  • Works directly with the chief engineer and stationary engineers.
  • Works with third-party contractors for facility equipment support, hazardous waste disposal, and incoming process gas suppliers.
  • Collaborates with the EHS team to ensure cleanroom facility compliance with internal, local, and environmental safety standards, including annual regulatory audits and appropriate quality assurance standards.
  • Coordinates and manages tool installation in the current facility for capacity needs.
  • Troubleshoots MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) related issues.
  • Monitors the BMS monitoring system to ensure equipment operates within established limits and maximizes uptime for the production facility.
  • Plans and coordinates infrastructure and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinates and assists as necessary in repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Supports EHS team to meet all safety and environmental standards.
  • Supports ramp down of the current fab while transferring equipment to a new fab.
  • Provides after-hours support including onsite ERT responses.
  • Initiates ECNs and develops SOPs.
