About The Position

The Sr. Estimator is responsible for handling estimates with minimal supervision from management. This role reports directly to the Estimating Manager and the employee routinely interacts with others in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Fabrication to develop fully priced estimates. The Sr. Estimator will be authorized to have selected access to previous business unit financial and project data, new pricing, and rates to prepare cost estimates. They will be responsible for preparing estimates for commercial proposals by working together with engineering, production, procurement, subcontracts, human resources, and operations groups. Remit and responsibilities assigned to Sr. Estimator and their work will be measured through existing Gate Reviews and annual performance reviews. This role involves managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision, and addressing difficult and sometimes complex problems.

Requirements

  • College or University Diploma, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional degree: Required BS in industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Typically, 10 years since first degree and 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 5 -10+ years in an Estimating role
  • Knowledge of CB&I products and markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Mentally agile and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
  • Proven negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated business partnering skills with the ability to influence the organization
  • Adaptability and agility to learn and contribute in varying and complex environments
  • A mature business and technical acumen coupled with a drive to achieve results
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skill, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work and build credibility across the business, up to and including senior management level
