Learn more at northernnevadahealth.com This SR ER Tech opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This individual will provide indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitor. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent with one (1) year experience in an acute care hospital.
Current AEMT Certification
Proof of medical terminology class upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
Proof of Basic 16hr EKG class (within three months of hire), completes annual EKG competency
BLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Nice To Haves

NV Phlebotomy Certificaiton preferred

Responsibilities

Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, coworkers, physicians and nursing director
Communicates information about dysrhythmias to the charge nurse and primary care nurse. Demonstrates competency in interpreting dysrhythmias
Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
