Learn more at northernnevadahealth.com This SR ER Tech opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This individual will provide indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitor. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with one (1) year experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Current AEMT Certification
  • Proof of medical terminology class upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
  • Proof of Basic 16hr EKG class (within three months of hire), completes annual EKG competency
  • BLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • NV Phlebotomy Certificaiton preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, coworkers, physicians and nursing director
  • Communicates information about dysrhythmias to the charge nurse and primary care nurse. Demonstrates competency in interpreting dysrhythmias
  • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
