We’re looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team and help ensure the quality and reliability of externally sourced equipment and materials used in semiconductor manufacturing. In this role, you will partner closely with suppliers and internal manufacturing sites to assess performance, resolve quality issues, and support management activities. You’ll use data‑driven insights, structured problem‑solving methods, and established quality systems to drive continuous improvement across the supply base. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate multi-functionally, influence supplier outcomes, and make a measurable impact on product quality and manufacturing performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, supporting manufacturing, supplier quality, or process quality functions.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with external equipment and/or material vendors, including performance evaluations and issue resolution.
  • Experience with 8D corrective actions, IQC, SPC, and FMEA, in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately once per quarter to support supplier audits and cross‑site teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing supplier modifications, including PCNs, risk assessments, and implementation verification.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment qualification and supplier audit processes.
  • Strong cross‑functional communication skills with experience coordinating across multiple manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze supplier quality benchmarks (yield, defect rates, OTD, PPM), identify trends, and drive continuous improvement with external equipment and material vendors.
  • Lead and run supplier corrective action processes, including 8D investigations, root cause analysis, and verification of effective containment and long‑term corrective actions.
  • Own supplier process updates, coordinating approval steps, risk assessments, and implementation verification across Micron sites.
  • Apply and implement IQC, SPC, and FMEA methodologies to ensure incoming materials and supplier processes meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Support quarterly supplier audits and onsite engagements, ensuring alignment to Micron quality standards and applicable government regulations.
