About The Position

The Sr. Equipment Supervisor at Primoris Services Corporation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency for construction and industrial projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on a wide range of construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices for equipment safety.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.
  • Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions and on construction sites.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of equipment mechanics, technicians, and operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all company-owned and leased equipment, including excavators, dozers, cranes, trucks, and other specialized machinery.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various types of heavy equipment and coordinate appropriate repairs.
  • Manage equipment inventory, including parts, tools, and supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee equipment mobilization and demobilization to and from job sites, ensuring proper loading, securing, and transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational hours.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to schedule equipment usage, allocate resources, and address equipment-related challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in equipment management and maintenance.
  • Assist in the procurement of new equipment, assessing specifications and suitability for project needs.
