About The Position

Renesas Electronics is seeking an experienced Sr. Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead equipment engineering and maintenance operations within our semiconductor manufacturing facility in Palm Bay, Florida. This role has end-to-end responsibility for Wafer Fab, Probe, Assembly, and Test (PAT) equipment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader and people manager with a proven record of improving equipment reliability, yield, cost of ownership, and organizational capability across front-end and back-end manufacturing operations. Requirements

  • 8+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in Equipment Engineering and/or Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Wafer Fab, Probe, Assembly, and Test manufacturing operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing engineers and/or maintenance technicians.
  • Excellent mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and equipment performance improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Equivalent industry experience, training, or military service may substitute for formal education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams of equipment engineers and maintenance technicians supporting both front-end and back-end manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment availability, throughput, yield, reliability, cycle time, and cost of ownership.
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment failures.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and systemic reliability improvements.
  • Design, evaluate, test, and implement equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, and tool modifications.
  • Identify and mitigate spare parts and lifecycle risks, including supplier qualification, second sourcing, and obsolescence management.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, NPI, and Supply Chain aligning with production and business requirements.
  • Support and lead equipment procurement, installations, relocations, upgrades, and qualifications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, PM procedures, and training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, ITAR, and export control requirements.
  • Manage budgets, capital planning, vendor relationships, and equipment roadmaps.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians, developing technical depth and leadership capability within the organization.
