The Sr. Engineering Specialist (Forming/Process Parts) is responsible for coordinating customer specifications with the production team to ensure products meet customer needs. This role focuses on initiating and implementing technical improvements, resolving technical problems, and assessing process capabilities. The position involves managing safety risks, using science and engineering principles for process understanding and improvement, and providing expertise on the relationship between process parameters, operational performance, and product properties. The specialist will develop and implement new ideas for quality or productivity improvements, identify cost or product performance enhancements, and use statistical methods to validate improvements. They will employ standard problem-solving tools (RCA, 5-why) to analyze issues and define corrective actions, track actions for transparency, and partner with external suppliers or institutions for new process development. The role includes planning and coordinating engineering work, ensuring effective communication among disciplines and stakeholders, applying sound engineering practices for projects, and managing capital projects from justification to implementation. Additionally, the specialist will develop and deliver training materials, ensure compliance, and contribute to TPM systems (5S, AM, PM, FI). Within the Process Parts Team, responsibilities include documenting processes, training the team, ensuring customer satisfaction, developing procedures to meet customer expectations, supporting product experiments, leading and managing direct reports, establishing performance goals, partnering with maintenance for TPM, managing AM and 5S, analyzing area performance, developing action plans, managing budgets, managing inventory, and overseeing team succession and polyvalence.
