About The Position

This position is with our client’s Adhesive Technologies business unit (adhesives, sealants and functional coatings). The Sr. Engineering Project Manager will work as a leader of project teams to drive the delivery and implementation of major capital projects (>$30 MM USD) within the company's North America. The role may require managing projects simultaneously at multiple sites. This role has full project life cycle ownership, ensuring successful project delivery from conceptual design through initiation and deployment. The manager will oversee project scope, day-to-day activities, and resources, chair project management team meetings, and understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs. Responsibilities include participating in feasibility studies, vendor selections, defining Statements of Work, and monitoring project progress to resolve issues and manage critical path deliverables. A strong understanding of project and program management principles, Process Safety Management, and the ability to lead risk assessments (HAZOP’s, MOC’s, PSSR’s, LOPA, SIS) are essential. The role also involves providing status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risks.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering required (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 15-20 years hands on experience with Capital Project Management at chemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and execute multiple projects at various stages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills required.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn new chemistries and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery and implementation of major capital projects (>$30 MM USD) within the company's North America.
  • Manage projects simultaneously at multiple sites.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: conceptual design, initiation, and deployment.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases.
  • Manage project scope and changes.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and resources.
  • Chair project management team meetings.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals.
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services.
  • Monitor, track, and control workstreams to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Lead basic and detailed Risk Assessments, HAZOP’s, MOC’s, PSSR’s, LOPA, developing and implementing SIS.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks.
