About The Position

This position is with the Adhesive Technologies business unit, focusing on leading the delivery and implementation of major capital projects (>$30 MM USD) within North America. The role involves full project life cycle ownership, from conceptual design and estimation to initiation and deployment. The Project Manager will manage project scope, day-to-day activities, and resources, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Responsibilities include participating in feasibility studies, vendor selections, defining Statements of Work, and monitoring project progress to resolve issues and manage dependencies. A strong understanding of project management principles and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, including risk assessments, HAZOPs, MOCs, PSSRs, LOPA, and SIS development, is essential. The role also requires providing regular status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risks.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering required (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 15-20 years hands-on experience with Capital Project Management at chemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and execute multiple projects at various stages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new chemistries and processes.
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Intimate familiarity with requirements of Process Safety Management.
  • Capability of leading basic and detailed Risk Assessments, HAZOP’s, MOC’s, PSSR’s, LOPA, developing and implementing SIS.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery and implementation of major capital projects (>$30 MM USD) within North America.
  • Manage projects simultaneously at multiple sites, if required.
  • Assume full project life cycle ownership, from conceptual design to deployment.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases.
  • Manage all aspects of projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage project scope and changes.
  • Oversee day-to-day project activities and resources.
  • Chair project management team meetings.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Participate in and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals.
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services.
  • Monitor, track, and control workstreams to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Lead basic and detailed Risk Assessments, HAZOP’s, MOC’s, PSSR’s, LOPA, and develop/implement SIS.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks.
