We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a remote-first, cross-functional team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) responsible for the quality and reliability of all Cribl products. This is a hands-on leadership role in ensuring that quality is built-in from the start of the software development lifecycle, implementing test strategy from design to release with agentic workflows. You’ll play a key role in driving engineering excellence, delivering high-quality products to our customers.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in establishing testing strategy and defining quality metrics for products that will be deployed in both SaaS as well as customer managed environments
  • Thorough understanding of the SDLC and the changes required for agentic development
  • Strong understanding of test architecture, automation, CI/CD, observability, release management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with AI-developed tests and workflows
  • BS CS/EE or equivalent practical experience with 10+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years in a technical leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality strategy across Cribl products and communicate metrics for data-driven prioritization of the team’s roadmap
  • Lead continuous improvement in test automation, CI stability, defect prevention, root-cause analysis, and escape-rate reduction.
  • Continuously optimize end to end pipelines for both quality and velocity, removing bottlenecks for both people and agentic workflows
  • Foster a "customer first" mindset by continuously running failure analysis to close the testing gap with customer deployments
  • Establish a strong partnership with product management and engineering managers to ensure quality standards are implemented from the start
  • Coach, mentor, and grow a remote-first team of exceptional test engineers focusing on agentic workflows
  • This position may include stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties
