About The Position
Starbucks is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to ensure the stability, availability, performance, security, and scalability of its SAP ecosystem. The role combines deep SAP Basis expertise with support for SAP SuccessFactors administration and configuration as business needs arise. It partners with HR, application, infrastructure, and security teams to maintain business continuity, support strategic initiatives, and provide reliable enterprise platforms. The position administers SAP landscapes, including on-premises ECC, BW, Solution Manager, SAP PI/PO, SAP Cloud Connector, and related technologies. It performs system installations, upgrades, support package implementation, kernel updates, system refreshes, transport management, client administration, system copies, and landscape maintenance. The role monitors system health, performance, availability, and capacity; troubleshoots production incidents; maintains high availability and disaster recovery capabilities; and supports integrations with enterprise applications and cloud services. It also develops operational procedures, monitoring standards, and automation solutions. The administrator supports SuccessFactors configuration and administration, working with HR and business stakeholders on approved changes. Activities include assistance with role-based permissions, workflows, business rules, system setup, data loads, integrations, testing, release validation, quarterly release reviews, impact assessments, and troubleshooting, including coordination with vendors when needed. The role ensures SAP systems comply with company security policies and regulatory requirements; partners with security teams on vulnerability remediation and audits; supports access controls, segregation-of-duties requirements, and compliance reporting; and maintains secure operational practices. The successful candidate will maintain secure, highly available environments, lead Basis maintenance, upgrades, and performance initiatives, resolve complex production issues independently, and contribute to modernization of Starbucks' SAP landscape. The position is onsite four days a week. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of SAP Basis Administration experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting SAP ECC, S/4HANA, HANA databases, and SAP NetWeaver platforms.
- Experience performing system upgrades, patching, transports, and environment refreshes.
- Experience with SAP monitoring, performance tuning, and incident management.
- Knowledge of SAP security concepts and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Experience working in production environments requiring high availability and operational excellence.
Nice To Haves
- Experience administering SAP SuccessFactors.
- Experience configuring one or more SuccessFactors modules, including Employee Central, Recruiting, Performance & Goals, Compensation, Learning, or Onboarding.
- SAP Basis certification and/or SuccessFactors certification.
- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud-hosted SAP environments.
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with SAP Identity Authentication Services (IAS) and Identity Provisioning Services (IPS).
- Experience supporting global HR systems and integrations.
Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot production incidents and complex SAP infrastructure issues; identify permanent resolutions to infrastructure or business process issues.
- Maintain high availability and disaster recovery capabilities across SAP platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure SAP environments meet security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Support SAP integrations with enterprise applications and cloud services.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, monitoring standards, and automation solutions.
- Support configuration and administration activities within SuccessFactors modules.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to implement approved configuration changes.
- Assist with role-based permissions, workflows, business rules, and system setup.
- Support data loads, integrations, testing, and release validation activities.
- Participate in SuccessFactors quarterly release reviews and impact assessments.
- Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate vendor support when required.
- Ensure SAP systems comply with company security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with security teams on vulnerability remediation and audit activities.
- Support access controls, segregation-of-duties requirements, and compliance reporting.
- Implement and maintain secure operational practices across SAP platforms.
- Maintain highly available and secure SAP environments and provide dependable operational support for critical HR and enterprise systems.
- Lead Basis maintenance, upgrades, and performance initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted partner to HR, Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
- Contribute to ongoing modernization of Starbucks' SAP landscape.
