About The Position

The Sr Engineer III, Electronics is responsible for leading the design, development, verification, and support of complex electronic hardware used in Masimo’s medical device products. This role provides advanced technical contribution across the hardware development lifecycle, including architecture definition, circuit design, board-level implementation, verification, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering. Working closely with cross-functional partners, this engineer independently drives complex technical solutions, supports critical product decisions, and contributes to product performance, reliability, and compliance objectives. This position reports to the Sr Director, Instrument Hardware and is part of the Hardware Engineering department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with 10+ years of progressive experience in electronics design, development, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Strong experience with schematic capture tools such as PADS, OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting PCB layout, board bring-up, and high-speed design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with full product development lifecycle from concept through production.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing within medical devices or other regulated product development environments.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601-1 and related compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting EMC/EMI design, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to signal integrity and power integrity design considerations.
  • Experience with electrical simulation tools such as PSPICE, Multisim, or equivalent.
  • Programming experience in C for embedded systems support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of analog and digital electronic circuits for medical device applications.
  • Own hardware design activities across the engineering lifecycle, including architecture, schematic development, implementation, verification, and sustaining support.
  • Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to integrate hardware solutions into finished products.
