About The Position

As Energy & Resource Management Engineer you will lead and support Scout Motors’ ISO 50001 Energy Management System while driving continuous improvement in energy performance across manufacturing and operational sites. This role is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing critical natural resource usage to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Working cross-functionally, the engineer will translate data into actionable strategies that reduce cost, mitigate risks and advance Scout’s long-term environmental commitments. Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Lead and manage efforts to support and maintain ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification across Scout’s manufacturing and operational sites. Develop and implement energy management strategies, standards, and procedures to optimize electrical, thermal, and fuel energy use. Track, analyze, and report energy performance indicators (EnPIs), energy consumption trends, and efficiency improvements. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, and Sustainability teams to identify, evaluate, and implement projects that reduce energy use and cost. Manage natural resource tracking systems for key metrics such as water consumption, compressed air use, refrigerants, and other operational resources critical to Scout’s operations. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with sustainability goals, regulatory requirements, and environmental reporting obligations. Lead energy audits, benchmarking, energy modeling, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support capital planning and business cases for energy and resource conservation initiatives. Prepare and present regular reports to leadership on energy/resource performance, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy/resource management, sustainability, or operations, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO 50001 implementation, energy management systems, or equivalent energy efficiency frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, energy modeling, and metrics reporting.
  • Familiarity with utility billing analysis, energy procurement, and resource measurement systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with energy efficiency technologies, renewable energy integration, and natural resource conservation initiatives is a plus.
