About The Position

Transocean's Technical Services Group is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to provide engineering recommendations and technical documentation for REA closures and TMOC upgrades. This role involves developing CMMS AIM bulletins, assisting field teams with equipment failure investigations to minimize downtime, leading offshore/OEM/shipyard inspections and testing activities (commissioning, FATs, trials), and advising on equipment obsolescence and overhaul planning. Transocean is a leading international provider of offshore contract drilling services, specializing in technically demanding sectors like ultra-deepwater and harsh environment drilling, operating a fleet of 27 mobile offshore drilling units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience with a multinational offshore drilling company.
  • Experience with NOV Cyberbase and MH Wirth DrillView systems.
  • Experience with drillfloor equipment controls (e.g., drawworks, topdrives, iron roughneck, pipe rackers, fingerboard controls, ARC Offshore Riser Robotics).
  • Experience reading PLC code to troubleshoot.
  • Experience identifying SW problems/bugs and proposing solutions.
  • Experience in integrated drilling control systems platforms (e.g., NOVOS, Cyberbase, DrillviewGO, DEAL, CADS, MMC, IntelliWell Automate, Zone Management Systems, Pipe Interlock Systems, Salunda, and AKA AGP/PMS Hybrid Drilling systems).

Responsibilities
