About The Position

The Senior Engineer, Infrastructure & Network Services - Edge Computing & Networks provides subject matter expertise within Infrastructure & Network Services, driving networking, server management, storage, unified communications, monitoring, and data center operations with a focus on Edge Computing & Networks through advanced problem-solving, technical depth, and hands-on execution. This position evaluates technology alternatives and ensures alignment with PDS Health's standards and business goals. The Senior Engineer, Infrastructure & Network Services - Edge Computing & Networks is responsible for maintaining and operating the foundational technology infrastructure that supports PDS Health's clinical and business operations, while managing IT operational processes that ensure reliable and consistent service delivery across the organization. This includes hands-on maintenance of IT infrastructure to support the optimal performance of software, hardware, and network systems, performing regular testing, troubleshooting, and technical remediation to maintain and enhance overall system performance and stability. The Senior Engineer, Infrastructure & Network Services - Edge Computing & Networks collaborates across teams, mentors junior team members, and interfaces with business leaders to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions, ensuring compliance with ITIL frameworks, asset management standards, procurement policies, network security standards, data center compliance requirements, and applicable infrastructure regulatory frameworks. Additionally, this engineer is responsible for maintaining accurate technical documentation, including logging bugs, fixes, and system changes for future reference, ensuring institutional knowledge is preserved and accessible across the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of professional experience is required.
  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in infrastructure and networks or related fields, with demonstrated hands-on technical expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and network principles, tools, and industry standards, including but not limited to networking, server management, storage, and monitoring technologies.
  • Advanced experience with the layers of the OSI model.
  • Advanced experience with network protocols such as DHCP, DNS, AD, TCP, and UDP.
  • Ability to participate in on-call duties (24/7) in support of incident and event management escalation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, and ISO.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the healthcare (medical or dental industry), retail, or other large enterprise organizations.
  • Working knowledge of network, server, storage, and monitoring platforms and their role in supporting reliable and consistent enterprise infrastructure operations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining customer-facing policies and documentation.
  • Experience with SDWAN Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate technical systems with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability, providing hands-on engineering execution across networking, server, storage, and data center environments.
  • Lead system reliability, performance tuning, and capacity planning, with direct involvement in diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
  • Drive incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues, serving as a senior technical resource for complex and escalated problems.
  • Evaluate and improve infrastructure-as-code development and deployment.
  • Develop and implement automation of operational tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management, while mentoring others in automation best practices.
  • Support monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions, reviewing system and application logs, coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies to ensure timely awareness and response.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of security best practices.
  • Monitor and manage infrastructure costs by identifying underutilized or over-provisioned resources, tracking and controlling cloud spending, and identifying opportunities to reduce operational expenses without compromising performance or reliability, ensuring all technology investments deliver measurable value.
  • Drive collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment and drive consistent, reliable service delivery across the organization.
  • Evaluate and improve documentation of infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident escalation and resolution, providing hands-on technical response for critical issues.
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of new technologies and tools.
  • Maintain and update daily tickets in Ticketing System, ensuring notes and resolutions are accurately and completely filled out.
  • Create and update Change Management tickets for technical changes, ensuring alignment with systems, networking, and operational governance standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional team troubleshooting sessions, including major incident bridges, to help drive timely resolution and maintain operational continuity.
  • Develop and maintain Service Transition documentation and operational standards to ensure consistency and alignment across technical processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for junior engineers and cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance and expertise to drive prompt and effective issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory requirements.
