About The Position

The Sr. Engineer, Data Security is responsible for implementing and maturing the Electronic Records Information Management and Retention program technical tools, systems, and practices. This role is part of the Information Security team based in Las Vegas NV, reporting to the Manager of Data Security, supporting compliance with all records management practices and disposal requirements on behalf of the legal and privacy team. This role is key to supporting Wynn's efforts to ensure sensitive data is stored securely and properly deleted when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar quantitative disciplines with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an engineering role
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • Expertise in file shares, cloud architecture and API development and integration
  • Working experience building and optimizing architecture, systems, and datasets
  • Experience with hardening security on data stores (IAM, DLP)
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Must have strong analytic skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in Data Management policies, procedures, standards operating procedures
  • Ability to establish strong partnerships to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with databases and dataset manipulation (SQLServer, Oracle) & OS, DDL & SQL
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages: Python, Java, etc.
  • Experience with Data Modelling

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members, data owners, business units, and stakeholders to understand data needs and determine system capabilities
  • Implement and enforce retention policies to manage the lifecycle of data, including archiving, purging, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
  • Assess business requirements and participate in the selection and support of an Information Management (IM) platform, including Data Catalog, Classification, and Lifecycle Management capabilities
  • Implement and configure security measures, including access controls, data classification, and secure integrations with source systems
  • Create and customize taxonomies and classifications based on industry standards and organizational criteria to meet regulatory and jurisdictional requirements
  • Design and develop workflows to review and gain approval for lifecycle changes and disposition of electronic records in accordance with Information Management Policy
  • Establish procedures for gathering evidence related to data access, modifications, and deletions through audit logs and tracking mechanisms
  • Automate processes required by the Information Management team for Information Lifecycle, Information Governance, and Security functions
  • Perform analysis on enterprise data platforms and sources, making and executing recommendations to harden the data security posture
  • Generate reports and conduct audits to ensure compliance, track usage patterns, and monitor the effectiveness of the IM platform
  • Set up monitoring tools to track system performance, metadata changes, and user activities, with alerts configured for potential issues
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
