The Sr. Engineer – Software and Controls Test team member will test high-quality vehicle control subsystem software. The team member must be able to develop and execute test plans as well as design and maintain HIL infrastructure. The team member will be an integral part of multiple projects and responsible for peer reviewing others software. Relocation Assistance provided if more than 50 miles. YOUR IMPACT Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh, as well as general industry, engineering standards and processes. Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting. Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity. May be responsible for managing multiple projects. Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally. Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project. Ability to write and peer review high-quality, maintainable, test scripts. Responsible for HIL platforms such as dSPACE, NI, Vector, ETAS Improving HIL infrastructure so testing is repeatable, scalable, and available to development teams. Developing plant or subsystem simulations representing the physical system controlled by the ECU. Capturing synchronized network, I/O, diagnostic, and internal software data. Integrate production or prototype ECUs/controllers into HIL test benches and validate hardware/software interfaces. Executing automated regression testing and support continuous integration/continuous testing workflows. Responsible for quality conscious design including cost and reliability. Participate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities. Follow defined CMMI level 3 procedures in the writing of software. Ability to travel off-site to support engineering projects. Develop comprehensive test plans to verify safety and reliability of electronic systems. Conduct testing across multiple platforms, in both simulation and real-world use cases. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical subject matter. Process engineering information through CMMI level 3 procedures and software safety process. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Establishes priorities for work delegated to others. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.
