About The Position

Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health Information Technology, overseeing the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value. Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise application development, system integration, or SaaS configuration
  • Advanced database querying skills, including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries
  • Hands-on technical experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and building comprehensive ETL pipelines
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and securing enterprise APIs (REST/SOAP) to facilitate complex multi-system integrations and data pipelines
  • Strong background in PMO methodologies, project portfolio management, and related business processes

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Expert-level proficiency architecting solutions within Planview and the Microsoft Power Suite (Power BI, Power Automate)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead and primary solutions architect for the PMO Tools Team
  • Oversee Enterprise SaaS architecture and administration, acting as the primary technical owner for portfolio management platforms
  • Architect, build, and support complex multi-system integrations and scalable business automations
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines, complex reporting solutions, and backend database structures to support PMO applications
  • Operate as an internal consultant for PMO directors, project managers, and broader enterprise business groups, leading advanced requirements gathering sessions to translate cross-functional business needs into strategic technical solutions and onboard external teams into Planview
  • Provide hands-on mentorship, technical guidance, and code/configuration reviews for Engineers and Senior Analysts
  • Champion a collaborative, agile mindset, establishing workflows for the team to effectively pull and manage tasks from a shared backlog
