Sr EMC Engineer
About The Position
The Sr EMC Engineer is responsible for managing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary EMC contact for OEM technical communications and requirements management, analyzing and interpreting legal and OEM EMC specification documents to ensure compliance, and developing and maintaining EMC Compliance Matrices. The role also involves creating EMC test specifications for Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV) phases, planning and coordinating EMC test campaigns with internal teams and external laboratories, reviewing and evaluating EMC test reports, and communicating test results and findings to customers and stakeholders. Additionally, the engineer will conduct root cause analysis for EMC deviations, recommend corrective actions, and provide technical guidance on EMC-compatible electrical hardware system design, circuit design, layout, and electromechanical product design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive)
- 5 or more years of professional experience in EMC testing within the electronics engineering field, specifically in automotive or aerospace industries
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications and compliance documentation
- Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations in writing
Nice To Haves
- Experience with schematic design, layout, and RF theory
- Knowledge of electrical hardware development, specifically circuit design and validation
- Experience with software packages such as CANalyzer, CANape, and INCA
- Proficiency with statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE) analysis, and product reliability analysis
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external laboratories
- Fluency in English and German
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary EMC contact for OEM technical communications and requirements management

- Create EMC test specifications for Design Validation (DV) and Product Validation (PV) phases in accordance with applicable legal and OEM requirements
- Plan and coordinate EMC Design Validation (DV) test campaigns with internal teams
- Plan and coordinate EMC Product Validation (PV) test campaigns with certified and OEM-recognized test laboratories
- Review and evaluate EMC test reports for accuracy and compliance
- Communicate EMC test results and findings to customers and stakeholders
- Conduct root cause analysis for EMC deviations and recommend corrective actions
- Communicate EMC deviations and improvement measures to ECU development and integration teams
- Provide technical guidance on EMC-compatible electrical hardware system design
- Implement and verify effectiveness of EMC improvement measures
- Support the development of EMC-compliant circuit design, layout, and electromechanical product design
