About The Position

The Sr. Electronics Technician will serve as a maintenance technician at the Naval Consolidated BRIG (Prison), in Charleston, SC. Employee would be part of a team that would work normal shift hours but would also have on call hours 24/7 for emergency maintenance actions. This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal. Applying technical knowledge to solve routing problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals and engineering drawings with 4+ years of experience. Work requires familiarity with HP Aruba Network Switch programming, Windows 11 and Windows Server setup and troubleshooting Compliant with safety, security, property and material management, time and attendance. Familiarity with Milestone Video system, Stentofon Intercom Systems, Aviva Wonnderware HMI software and PLC hardware, door electronic locks. Keeps current on procedures, policies, instructions, technical orders, and manufacturer’s manuals. Guidelines include those established by the supervisor, manufacture’s handbooks, the National Electric Code, and engineering handbooks appropriate to the trade. Follows established safety procedures and utilizes safety protective equipment and clothing that pertains to particular trades or skills. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with fabricating, assembling, installing, modifying, and troubleshooting electronic equipment.
  • Proficient in reading wiring schematics.
  • Experience with soldering practices and familiar with printed circuit boards and power supplies.
  • Familiar with Quality Assurance procedures
  • Use of power tools, drills and saws.
  • Possible standing for full shift during assigned tasking.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical hand tools.
  • Experience with fiber optic and copper communications, installation and termination.
  • Experience with exterior electrical/Comms conduit installation to power panels and junction boxes.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Basic skills in using various computer software, including ability to use the Windows operating system as well as common Office software such as Microsoft outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Conduit and other regular electrician experience is a plus.
  • Previous maintenance experience at a military, federal, state, or county prison is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience applying technical knowledge to solve routing problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with HP Aruba Network Switch programming, Windows 11 and Windows Server setup and troubleshooting.
