About The Position

The Sr. Electronic Engineering Technician is a key contributor within the electronics engineering team, responsible for supporting the build, test, and validation of electronic products and processes. This hands-on role works closely with engineers and project teams to coordinate SMT trails, procure prototype materials, build and test assemblies, and ensure documentation accuracy. The role plays an integral part in troubleshooting PCB assemblies, executing engineering tasks, and driving progress across projects.

Requirements

  • Strong electronic aptitude
  • Thrives in a hands-on, problem-solving environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical or technician role (ideally within manufacturing)
  • Skilled in reading schematics
  • Supporting SMT builds
  • Working with PCB assemblies
  • Using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Takes ownership of your work
  • Communicates effectively across teams
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts

  • Able to identify issues, recommend solutions, and help move engineering work forward efficiently

  • An associate degree or 2 years in a bachelor's degree program in an engineering-related field

Responsibilities

  • Supporting engineering & project tasks as defined by manager, engineers, designers, and other staff.
  • Conducting testing and evaluation of products and processes; troubleshooting PCB assemblies.
  • Creating and building engineering samples and/or equipment, including assembling and soldering prototype PCBs.
  • Procuring parts, materials, and equipment, including researching needs, coordinating with sourcing, and maintaining lab inventory.
  • Coordinating electronics engineering activities and SMT prototype builds; ensuring materials, boards, and timing align with build schedules.
  • Creating and maintaining product, process, and equipment documentation.
  • Leading problem solving activities using PDCA.
  • Participating on product / process improvement teams and executing tasks as required.
  • Using standard methods for data collection and analysis; writing technical reports including recommendations for corrective action.
  • Analyzing parts and equipment issues and initiating corrective actions as required; performing PCB rework and repair.
  • Providing training to other technicians as required.
