About The Position

Rehlko is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sr Electrical Project Engineer – Power Systems, Sustaining Product Development to support the design, development, validation, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial generator platforms. This role is responsible for the development and integration of harnesses, breaker power boxes, basic electrical packages, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) to support both standard and custom generator solutions. The Sr Electrical Project Engineer – Power Systems, Sustaining Product Development will serve as a technical expert within the organization for generator set electrical harness and power system design, performance, and troubleshooting. This individual will provide technical guidance across engineering and cross-functional teams, evaluate the feasibility of new applications, and support fielded products through issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 5+ years’ of electrical experience
  • 1+ years’ of related experience in power systems design
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring new or transfer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of designing to the National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards is a plus.
  • Software experience with SEE, AutoCAD, CREO, MATLAB, SAP, or PTC Windchill is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support implementation of electrical components or electronic systems on Rehlko generator platforms, including validation, testing, and postproduction support.
  • Develops and executes test specifications and test procedures to validate or verify component or system function.
  • Work with cross functional teams to implement electrical and controls systems.
  • Troubleshoot failures and work with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Make recommendations for product improvements.
  • Provide power system technical expertise to generator set product development, manufacturing, sales, and applications engineering teams.
  • Engage with both standard product and custom solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement with updates to the generator set sizing program, standardization of technical publications, and captive toolset improvements.
  • Responsible for developing harness and wire management systems that comply with third party agency regulatory requirements and internal KPS design standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and design FMEA’s.
  • Assist with vendor investigation of root cause analysis for failed components.
  • Contribute to lessons learned methodology and continuous process improvement.
  • Provides technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, communicate effectively.
  • Develops documents and achieves product specifications for customers, regulatory, and technical requirements
  • Delivery of project work to time cost and quality.
  • Work to develop individual goals/objectives to support the department goals.
