About The Position

The Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is TemperPack’s primary technical resource for PLC-based controls troubleshooting, repair, and automation deployment across our manufacturing facilities. This role operates at the intersection of maintenance, engineering, and operations, supporting new equipment commissioning, controls system upgrades, and the hands-on technical execution that enables our capacity and automation growth agenda. You will partner closely with the Controls Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams and will train and support maintenance technicians across our plant network.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of E&I Technician experience in a manufacturing environment; food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry preferred
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs a must; Allen Bradley preferred.
  • Wide knowledge of standard pneumatic, electric and mechanical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong communication with colleagues, management and customers.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing basis. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Electrician preferred
  • Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Industrial Automation, Electronics, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered
  • Prior experience with GFSI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and refine PLC and HMI programs for Allen Bradley based systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist in the design, assembly, and commissioning of controls and automation systems including motor control panels, PLC panels and networks.
  • Maintain thorough technical documentation including wiring diagrams, network layouts, PLC code comments, and commissioning records.
  • Perform on-site startup, commissioning and validation of new machines
  • Travel to support major events at TemperPack locations in North America (25%)
  • Deliver electrical safety training to Maintenance Technicians, including LOTO procedures and safe work practices for energized systems.
  • Train site Maintenance Technicians on controls systems to enable effective remote troubleshooting support from Engineering.
  • Provide remote technical support of maintenance team during process issues.
  • Support capital projects from controls design through installation and validation, working with Engineering to ensure new equipment meets performance and safety requirements before handoff to Operations.
