Lead the design, prototype, and test of lithium-ion batteries to mass produce the “best-in-class” battery solutions. Provide engineering support on high complexity engineering projects. Lead the design to qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI. Serve as a role model for Milwaukee Tool’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior engineers. Grow the team’s technical capability and future leadership. Manage a small team of engineers. Oversee projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the company process. Drive urgency in project schedules and hold accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs. Create work breakdown structures for projects while driving to critical milestones. Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities. Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems. Develop test plans and procedures based on new or established products, to ensure product meets customer requirements. Draw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments based on data analysis. Conduct root cause analysis on lithium-ion failure modes, including thermal events, impedance rise, and capacity degradation. Supervise the work of other employees (Electrical Engineers).
