About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join our Newmarket, ON qualification center where you will support in-house testing on a broad range of components and assemblies to support the nuclear power industry. You will test a wide range of electrical components and equipment for projects related to the nuclear industry, which is a highly regulated industry. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. Creativity and latitude are expected to resolve problems of diverse scope. You will play a vital role within the assigned business segment supporting project schedules and customer deliverables. You will be responsible for completing project assignments in conformance with company procedures and policies to comply with customer specifications and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand a wide variety of large and complex customer purchase orders, technical specifications, and quality assurance requirements and translate that into design, procurement, qualification, and testing documents.
  • Ensure compliance with customer purchasing requirements, technical specifications, and industry standards & regulations.
  • Determine design approaches and parameters for testing and qualifying equipment and systems.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential failure modes to improve probability of successful results.
  • Facilitate factory acceptance tests, document and evaluate results of a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical components and systems.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and review vendor capability to support product compliance and verification.
  • Lead technical support of failure investigations and support bid responses.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the company Quality Program and Nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to achieve project objectives including safety, quality, and customer schedule.
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced staff, assist others in resolution of complex challenges.
  • Work safely in accordance with company policy at all times.
