About The Position

Varex is seeking to expand its capabilities in designing power trains for its line of charged particle accelerators. The successful candidate will design and analyze electrical systems, equipment, and packaging. The individual will conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs as well as direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, testing, and prototype fabrication. The successful candidate will be hands on and analytic, as well as process oriented. Travel will be required occasionally, but not substantially.

Requirements

High Voltage (up to 30 kV) power supplies.
Pulsed Power Modulators, both line type and solid state.
Control circuits.
Familiarity with: Charged Particle Accelerators.
SAP Product Life Cycle Management.
Engineering Change processes, revision control, and configuration management.
B.S. degree and 10+ years of related experience OR M.S. degree and 8+ years of related experience

Nice To Haves

Modulator design and operation.
Experience with both magnetron-based and klystron-based systems.
Experience with designing and running high-power klystron-based systems is a plus.
Control Circuit Design.
Ph.D. degree applicants are welcome
