The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Site Lead will work to create and enforce a culture of safety and implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure compliance with local, federal, and internal safety regulations and policies. The Site Lead will hold the position of Safety Officer and lead the Safety Committee. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EHS, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or other regulated laboratory related industry experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State Regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
  • Candidates without other relevant professional certifications are required to possess a CSP certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in the environmental or safety field (e.g., CHMM, CSP, or CIH) is preferred.
  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Experience and working knowledge of EHS regulations and industry standards, including LOTO, machine safety, ergonomics, chemical safety, and Biosafety Level 2 requirements.
  • Safety Officer and lead the Safety Committees.
  • Develop, conduct, and track training of employees on EHS programs.
  • Maintain EHS records, licenses and reporting to local, state, and federal organizations in compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and support implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment of Global EHS objectives.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis.
  • Recommend preventative/corrective actions.
  • Inspect facilities to identify EHS risks.
  • Recommend preventative/corrective actions.
  • Engage in regular virtual collaboration with corporate partners to share site performance, coordinate initiatives, and support a unified EHS culture across the organization.
  • Ensure safety data sheets are maintained and readily available.
  • Conduct incident investigations and assist in corrective actions.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal programs.
  • Coordinate safety and environmental audits and testing.
  • Support capital facility expansion and renovation projects by providing EHS technical expertise and resources to new business and validation and engineering projects with ownership in outcomes.
  • Manage relations with safety related service providers and vendors.
