The Drupal Web Developer owns day-to-day operations and maintenance of the public website. This person publishes new reports, data visualizations, and HTML content, and builds new templates or makes minor architecture changes when expanded content calls for them. The role also carries the site's security and compliance posture: monthly Drupal core and security patching, module upgrades, bug fixes, and ongoing remediation of security and Section 508 accessibility findings. Every release moves through a controlled Change Request (CR) process that this developer manages from request to deployment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Drupal developer who is as comfortable shipping a content release on deadline as running a patch cycle or closing out a scan finding. They work well with federal statisticians and communications staff and explain technical tradeoffs in plain language.
