About The Position

Habitat Charlotte Region is a leading affordable housing nonprofit dedicated to partnering with families through homeownership, home preservation, and financial literacy training. As a Senior Donor Database Specialist, you will be crucial in advancing our mission of ensuring everyone has a safe and affordable place to live. This role involves leading the management and optimization of our Salesforce fundraising database, ensuring data integrity, providing insights into donor trends, and supporting strategic fundraising decisions to enhance donor engagement and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to create an exceptional supporter experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience with data entry and database management, preferably with Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge or equivalent
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Donor Database: Leverage constituent data to support organizational goals, explore new information capture opportunities for relationship and donor engagement management, and assist the IT Business Analyst with the Salesforce help ticket queue, prioritizing requests, and providing backup on Salesforce projects.
  • Perform constituent record updates, including importing, exporting, and globally adding functions for HFHI revenue data, event-related data, volunteer information, and donor relationship engagements.
  • Data Integrity and Training: Monitor Salesforce data quality and integrity through auditing, cleansing, and de-duping. Develop and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy. Document Development Operations processes and maintain document retention methods.
  • Offer and conduct ongoing database-related training for staff using Salesforce Trailhead.
  • Cross-train to provide backup support for gift entry and donor acknowledgment.
  • Manage the backend of peer-to-peer fundraising or event software, including Apsona add-on app for Salesforce, GiveSmart, GiveButter, and OneCause.
  • Donor Stewardship: Execute the hiring, onboarding, and training of Development Volunteers and the seasonal Summer Development Intern, supervising their workload.
  • Create and deliver constituent recognition and engagement reports for stakeholder review.
  • Support team members in tracking goals, KPIs, and maintaining organizational Dashboards.
  • Construct comprehensive data analysis and revenue reporting to assess annual giving, assist Development leadership in tracking donor behavior, and support moves management strategies.
  • Segment the database for cultivation, appeals, and stewardship to support Development efforts.
  • Support the design and execution of a high-touch donor stewardship program, leveraging communication channels to communicate the impact of supporters' generosity.
  • Manage the execution of individual, faith, corporate, and foundation donor recognition activities in collaboration with Development department key relationship managers, ensuring timely fulfillment of recognition commitments.
