About The Position

The Sr. Director, Wholesale Marketing leads the strategic direction, team development, and category growth and demand generation for HOKA’s Lifestyle, Sport & Outdoor, and Run Specialty in the wholesale channel across North America. This leader oversees WS Marketing leaders and their teams, building a diverse, high-performing organization grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and accountability. You’ll drive long-term category strategies, set clear priorities, and align wholesale marketing plans to HOKA’s North America 5-Year Strategic Plan. Using consumer and marketplace insights, you’ll identify opportunities, cultivate innovation, and guide impactful partner activations across a broad ecosystem of wholesale accounts in the U.S. and Canada. As a strong cross-functional connector, you’ll work closely with Sales, Merchandising, Brand Marketing, Creative, PR, Product, and DTC to ensure channel-relevant storytelling, seamless seasonal execution, and consistent marketplace excellence. You’ll deliver results through disciplined planning, resource allocation, and strong financial stewardship, ensuring HOKA’s wholesale marketing investments drive measurable commercial and brand impact. You’ll champion continuous improvement, lead change effectively, and create an environment where teams feel valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, management, or related field required.
  • 12+ years of experience in wholesale trade marketing, marketplace marketing, or related fields - preferably footwear/apparel.
  • Experience overseeing multiple business categories or large-scale marketing programs.
  • Proven success leading and developing leaders and high-performance teams.
  • Deep experience in wholesale environments (digital + brick-and-mortar), including account marketing, POP, retail buildouts, and commercial planning.
  • Strong background in consumer, field, digital, event, and brand marketing.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and steering complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to define and drive vision, strategy, and execution across multiple categories and partners.
  • Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and decision-making in dynamic environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact initiatives.
  • Highly effective communicator, able to influence and present to senior leaders and key external partners.
  • Strong budget management and financial acumen with experience allocating resources across categories.
  • Skilled in navigating complexity across global matrixed organizations.
  • Innovative leader with strong operational discipline and ability to build scalable processes.

  • Takes a long-term, big-picture view of the NA wholesale landscape, prioritizing work that provides the greatest commercial and consumer impact.
  • Leads the development of unified strategic plans across Lifestyle, Sport & Outdoor, and Run Specialty, ensuring integrity, alignment to values, and consistent decision-making.
  • Establishes KPIs, evaluates downstream impacts, and uses data to make informed business decisions that drive category performance and deliver measurable results.
  • Ensures strategies reflect emerging trends and competitive advantages, enabling HOKA to maintain and build category leadership across diverse channels.
  • Builds and leads diverse, complementary teams by hiring talent with long-term potential and fostering a culture where individuals are valued and appreciated for their contributions.
  • Regularly provides real-time coaching, enabling team members to learn, grow, and strengthen their leadership capabilities.

  • Creates aligned strategies with Sales, Merchandising, Brand Marketing, PR, Creative, Product, and DTC, ensuring strong partnership and shared accountability across functions.
  • Leverages diverse perspectives across internal teams to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and strengthen category authenticity and execution.
  • Communicates proactively, building strong relationships across matrixed teams from individual contributors to executives.
  • Encourages cross-functional ways of working that increase agility, streamline processes, and improve execution efficiency.
  • Uses consumer insights, account data, and marketplace trends to identify new opportunities and enable product/marketing innovation.

  • Leads change management efforts across WS Marketing, identifying impacts to teams, partners, and processes to ensure successful adoption of new ways of working.

  • Interprets data to prioritize work, influence seasonal GTM planning, and recommend opportunities to elevate consumer and partner impact.
  • Presents recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, compelling manner, anticipating questions and demonstrating deep accountability for outcomes.
