About The Position

The Sr. Director, Supply Chain Network Performance and Efficiency is a key member of the Supply Chain leadership team. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of our supply chain network strategy. The Sr. Director, Network Performance and Efficiency will lead a team at the center of our operations, leveraging advanced analytics, engineering, process design, and modeling to optimize supply chain outcomes. The Sr. Director will collaborate closely with operations, transportation and logistics, customer delivery, planning and cross-functional internal and external partners. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain.

  • Strong knowledge of production planning principles, capacity management, and scheduling techniques, facilitating effective resource allocation and production scheduling.
  • Skill in managing and developing direct reports, fostering individual growth and performance excellence, and building effective teams.
  • Strong financial skills and understanding of supply chain metrics to drive business results and make informed decisions.
  • Create a customer-focused environment where excellent service is provided to all customers, ensuring business decisions align with customer needs and expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant business software to effectively analyze data and communicate information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10–15 years of supply chain experience (analytics, engineering, operations, planning, process improvement, logistics, automation, technology).
  • Advanced understanding of fulfillment, store delivery, off-price, luxury, and furniture and bedding supply chain solutions.
  • A passion for identifying complex opportunities or challenges and developing innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and talent development experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Ability to plan and execute multiple complex initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and address them directly.
  • Proven success working cross-functionally, with experience in network operations, continuous improvement, transportation, engineering, technology, and planning.
  • Demonstrated change management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop insightful, value-added, and actionable analyses.
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology required to perform job duties, including handheld electronic devices.
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping; may require color vision.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and implementation of Macy’s multi-year supply chain network strategy, translating mid and long-term business priorities into actionable plans.
  • Develop robust modeling of supply chain network storage and throughput capabilities.
  • Optimize the utilization of Macy’s supply chain network prioritizing and balancing customer, operational, and financial outcomes.
  • Drive visibility and accountability to network performance adherence to SLAs, developing advanced sensing and corrective capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency through process design, engineering, and standardization.
  • Accelerate the advancement of network analytics from reactive reporting to predictive sensing and automated adaptivity.
  • Partners across supply chain centers of excellence (transportation and logistics, planning, operations, customer delivery, finance, technology).
  • Prioritizes forecasting precision and insight to enable proactive decision making and stronger operational execution.
  • Integrate sales and operations planning to support timely, efficient inventory flow.
  • Optimize assortment and inventory placement across the fulfillment network.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team with strong attention to detail.
  • Challenge conventional approaches to improve methods, tools, and outcomes.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
